The Speight’s West Coaster accommodates all levels of fitness, adventure, and enthusiasm. Distances range from a challenging 21km to an achievable 6km. Perfect for the whole family or you and your mates.

Out of respect for the Kauri and their future, we work closely with DOC and Auckland Council so ensure we protect our national treasures while running our event.

The result is updated courses (pretty bloody good ones too – we think you’ll like them!) which avoid any public trails that go near Kauri. While there is remediation work to get many trails in the Waitakere Ranges up to standard to allow them to re-open, this takes time and currently the Goldie Bush/Mokoroa trails (a high-risk area with many beautiful Kauri) are not yet open for our use.

We will continue to follow best practice very strictly, and will be implementing our usual Kauri Die Back protocols before, during, and after the event.

As trail runners and nature lovers we're keen to do our part to protect our beautiful planet and reduce the environmental impact of our events. As such the Speight’s West Coaster is removing disposable cups from all aid stations. Please remember your reusable cup, hydration pack or water bottle to fill up!

We’ll have collapsible silicone cups available at event base for $5.
